To strengthen our Engineering team, we are looking for a hands-on and analytical Testing & Lab Engineer who will play a key role in validating product performance, supporting product development, and driving technical excellence across our organisation.

Your Profile

We are looking for a hands-on and analytical engineering professional who enjoys solving technical challenges and turning test results into actionable improvements. You thrive in a laboratory environment, are curious by nature, and have a passion for understanding how products perform under real-world conditions.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Experience in product testing, laboratory activities, quality engineering, product validation or R&D is a strong advantag
  • Hands-on and practical problem solver.
  • Curious and eager to understand how things work.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach.
  • Comfortable working with laboratory equipment, measuring instruments and testing procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, safety and quality.
  • Proactive attitude with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Engineering and quality.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to translate technical findings into clear conclusions and recommendations.
  • Fluent in English. Additional languages are considered an asset.


Your Role

In this role, you will be responsible for planning and executing product testing activities, investigating technical failures, and ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality, reliability and compliance. You will manage and develop our laboratory capabilities, maintain testing equipment, and support certification projects for international approvals such as FM, UL and CE.

Working closely with Product Owners, Technical support, Quality and external certification bodies, you will contribute to the development of new products, the improvement of existing designs, and the resolution of technical challenges through structured testing.

Beyond executing tests, you will take ownership of laboratory operations, including equipment management, calibration planning, test method development and continuous improvement initiatives. You will also coordinate external laboratory testing when required and help ensure that our validation processes remain efficient, accurate and aligned with industry best practices.

This is a high-impact technical role with broad exposure across product development, quality and certification activities. You will have a direct influence on product reliability, compliance, innovation and customer satisfaction while supporting the continued growth of the Profit Group.

Key responsibilities:

1. Product testing & validation

  • Perform product testing of new and existing products according to applicable standards, specifications and internal requirements.
  • Execute product tests under various operating, environmental and installation conditions.
  • Verify product performance, reliability and compliance with technical requirements.
  • Support product qualification, certification and approval activities.
  • Prepare clear, structured and professional technical test reports.

2. Failure analysis & technical investigations

  • Investigate technical issues and product failures originating from customer complaints.
  • Support root cause analyses together with the engineering team.
  • Analyse customer complaints and provide technical feedback to Engineering and quality.
  • Support quality investigations and continuous improvement projects.

3. Laboratory operations & management

  • Plan, coordinate and manage laboratory testing activities and priorities.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure its correct and safe operation.
  • Own and manage the laboratory equipment inventory.
  • Develop and maintain the laboratory calibration plan.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and coordinate repairs of test equipment when required.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety requirements and best practices.

4. Test methods & equipment development

  • Develop, standardise and maintain test procedures, work instructions and testing protocols.
  • Design, modify and improve test setups and equipment to achieve the required accuracy, repeatability and safety standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement of testing methods to increase efficiency, accuracy and repeatability.
  • Support the implementation of new testing capabilities required for product development and certification.

5. Product development support

  • Support engineers during product development, validation and troubleshooting activities.
  • Provide technical expertise and testing feedback to Engineering.
  • Contribute to product improvements through testing results.
  • Propose product design improvements based on testing outcomes and failure investigations.

6. Certification & external testing

  • Support certification projects including FM, UL, CE and other applicable approvals.
  • Coordinate external laboratory testing and third-party validation activities when required.
  • Act as the technical contact for testing-related topics with external laboratories, certification bodies and suppliers.
